A modern news room with a budget green screen and edgy

graphic effects.

NEWSCASTER

Voting season has arrived and us here at The World's Best News

Company have started trying new but traditional ways to spread the

spirit of voter participation.

CUT TO:

2 INT. GROCERY STORE - DAY 2

The news team move through the grocery store and target a few different people but approach a man looking at his bread options.

NEWSCASTER

Hello sir do you mind if we ask you a question? Thank you so much.

Sir are you going to be voting this

year?

MAN

Uh...., I hadn't thought about it but I probably should.

NEWSCASTER

Mhm. So as of now it's a no you think?

MAN

Yeah, I don't know. I'll try.

NEWSCASTER

Mhm. Yeah no, not good enough. Go ahead.

A pie is launched from off-screen at the man, hitting him in the face.

CUT TO:

3 EXT. PARK - DAY 3

The news team approach a couple sitting at a park bench.

NEWSCASTER

Hello, lovely picnic setup.

GIRL

Hiiii.

NEWSCASTER

How are you guys doing? Such great weather. Have you two registered to

vote yet?

The couple look at each other and half smile.

Beat.

NEWSCASTER

Yeah, I didn't think so. Give it to 'em.

Two pies are launched from off-screen, hitting the two in the face.

Montage of pies being thrown in faces. Some pies just shared

with people and voter registration cards. One girls glasses are knocked off.

4 INT. STORE - DAY 4

NEWSCASTER

Hey you're just throwing them kind of hard, take a little steam off.

Not every single one has to be a fastball you know.

PIE THROWER

Sorry. I just really want them to vote.

CUT TO:

5 INT. NEWS STATION - DAY 5

NEWSCASTER

Okay, our final stop of the day is right here at TWBNC.

We're gonna ask some of the staff and make sure EVERYONE

and we mean EVERYONE is participating.

People scamper away as they walk through. Some furiously type into their computer or feign phone calls. The news team catches up with the producer of the segment.

NEWSCASTER

Hello Mr. Novitz, would you like to say anything to everyone about voting?

MR.NOVITZ

Yes, make sure you go out and vote. Participation is the key to change

and we all need to make sure we do our part to impact the future.

There is power in your action and don't stop at voting. Take that

initiative and change your communities in real sustainable ways.

NEWSCASTER

That's great. Now you wouldn't mind showing the people what a voter

registration card looks like would you?

MR.NOVITZ

No of course not but unfortunately I don't have my physical copy.

NEWSCASTER

Mhm. So would you walk us through how you registered to vote?

MR.NOVITZ

Of course.

NEWSCASTER

How did you register?

MR.NOVITZ

I haven't done it yet but I will go today actually.

Beat.

NEWSCASTER

But you haven't done it yet.

MR.NOVITZ

No, but I'm going to right now.

NEWSCASTER

Yeah but before this moment you

haven't.

MR.NOVITZ

No.

NEWSCASTER

We've pied a lot of people.

MR.NOVITZ

Can I do it online?

NEWSCASTER

In the state of Texas you can't register online, the only remote

option is printing it, filling it out and sending it to your nearest

election office.

Beat.

MR.NOVITZ

(sigh)...please don't throw it hard.
